Business Awards Macau were established in 2013 as a powerful and influential incentive in the Territory for the recognition and promotion of the most outstanding business achievements and the most striking contributors to the community, valuing the business talent, vision and innovation which inspires a greater and more sustainable development of Macau.
There are Ten Award Categories: Leadership, Entreprenuer, Young Entrepreneur, New Talent, Most Valuable Brand, Innovation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Performance, Small & Medium Enterprise, Non-Profit Organization.
There are 7 Honour Commission Members, 7 Advisory Board Members and 30 Judging Panel Members.
Sister Juliana Devoy, Director of the Good Shepherd Crisis Centre, comments: "The Awards are an opportunity to make the work of Good Shepherd Sisters in Macau known to the business community. For the past 25 years we've provided service to one of the most vulnerable groups in our society. But in general we are very low key in order to protect our women from the gaze of the public. I'm grateful that we were chosen for the NGO category because I do believe that our work for women and women's rights has made an important contribution to Macau society." Juliana says the Business awards are a precious event "raising awareness in this sector of society about the key role that business can play in the fight against modern day slavery."
