As a national programme manager for Good Shepherd Services for Women and Children for a number of years, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to meet many people, particularly those who are vulnerable. I have come to realize that issues encountered by women are complex.
Now I am a volunteer for Good Shepherd Indonesia. I am assisting single mothers in Jakarta.
Currently I am national coordinator for koalisi peduli migran dan perdagangan orang NTT. It can be translated as National Caucus of Migrant and Human Trafficking of Nusa Tenggara Timur, or East Nusa Tenggara. This is a province in the east of Indonesia where a lot of people become victims of human trafficking. This Caucus consists of representatives of various congregations and dioceses working on the issues of migration and human trafficking.
I am coordinator for managing UTAMA safe house in Jakarta for trafficking and domestic violence survivors. This is a Jesuit institution in collaboration with some NGOs working on trafficking and domestic violence in Jakarta.
My experience working in grassroots communities has allowed me to see unjust living conditions especially for women, children, and marginalized communities. Faith in God is my motivation, and I realize that I share the same commitment with all the people working with marginalized people around the globe.
