Women and Girls

The specific orientation of the Congregation of Sisters of the Good Shepherd, in 72 countries of the world, is towards women and girls experiencing disadvantage, violence and hardship.

The Sisters of the Good Shepherd believe that women reflect the divine image.  With other people of good will they work for the full inclusion of women in situations where their dignity and human rights are not respected.

In Pattaya Thailand in 2008, 80 Sisters participated in the Asia Pacific Intercontinental Assembly, held in preparation for the Congregational Chapter 2009.  The sisters found strong consensus in developing four Priorities, within their overall orientation towards women and girls, to guide ministry planning and development.

  • Economic Justice

  • Migration

  • Anti Trafficking

  • Ecology
